What is in the Sitz Bath:
Calendula flower (Calendula officinalis) - is an anti-inflammatory that calms irritation, reduces itching, and supports natural vaginal flora. It is also an antiseptic and antimicrobial, which helps promote tissue repair and regeneration while keeping the area clean and preventing infection. It helps ease discomfort, reduce itching, and pain while also supporting the natural vaginal flora (Calendula is the herbalist's best friend when it comes to skin all over your body!).
Chickweed (Stellaria media) - soothes itching and irritation while reducing swelling, redness, and discomfort. It also has many vulnerary properties which help with healing wounds and cuts. While also promoting moisturizing, tightening, and softening of the skin.
Plantain leaf (Plantago lanceolata, Plantago major) - helps reduce swelling, soothes and moisturizes, which helps to relieve dryness and itchiness. It is also an astringent, so it helps tighten the skin and promotes healing.
English Lavender flower (Lavandula angustifolia) - contains anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties. This helps reduce redness, swelling, calms irritation, and promotes wound healing.
Lemon Balm (Melissa officinalis) - acts as a sedative and antispasmodic, which helps with emotional balance by nervine support, especially around depression. Also helps with swelling, soreness, and supports healing while giving a cooling/refreshing sensation.
Red Rose Petals (Rosa centifolia) - are astringent, antifungal, and an antibacterial.
How to Use:
Add 4 tablespoons of the herbal sitz blend to 1 quart (4 cups) of hot water.
Steep for 2–3 hours or overnight, then strain.
Pour the infusion into a sitz bath basin or shallow tub with warm water.
*You may add Epsom salt for extra soothing relief.
Sit and soak for 15–20 minutes, allowing the herbs to gently soothe and cleanse.
Discard the herbal sitz after each use.
Use once or twice daily, as needed for comfort and healing.
